Meet the Doctor
Dr. Robert Howell, DC, RN, MSN, FNP-C
I became a Doctor of Chiropractic because I liked that many common conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol could be controlled with lifestyle changes of better eating choices and exercise. I also liked that many injuries could be treated with spinal joint manipulations and physical medicine modalities without medication. However, I had many patients who needed prescription medication so I had to refer them to their medical physician. Therefore, I felt limited in treating medical conditions or providing anti-inflammatory or pain medication for my patients and so I returned to school for another 6 years to become a family nurse practitioner so I could be able to treat patients that would come to me.
I wanted to become a Family Nurse Practitioner because nursing has been ranked as the most trusted of all professions for several years. Making a difference for patients is at the center of all that a FNP does. By becoming an FNP I am able to help people with prescription medication to help with acute and chronic pain from injuries, common infections, diabetes, weight issues, thyroid conditions, low testosterone, and over 150 other common medical conditions.
